SuperLog

SuperLog generates boring log and test pit graphical reports for field drilling and geotechnical investigations. It is a user-friendly, easy to learn, powerful, and flexible program, which will increase your productivity significantly.

Advanced capabilities include rapid input, e.g., typing "f to m sa" will pop out "fine to medium sand." The abbreviation list can be personalized by the user. Automatic depth generation, boilerplate, and spell check make the input fast and enjoyable. The average time to learn the program is 15 minutes. The average time to generate a log is 5 minutes. All the symbols and soil patterns can be viewed and input on the screen so that you do not have to remember them.

SuperLog saves countless engineer's hours spent preparing and retrieving boring logs. This benefit can begin immediately since the program is extremely easy to learn and use. With a laptop computer you can even enter in the data during the actual drilling.

The program offers many templates. Users can design their own templates or modify the many included templates to meet their needs.

The logs can be pasted into MS-Word, so you can include all boring logs in your geotechnical report and e-mail them to your clients. You can also put several logs on one page. (See Examples in Word) The logs can be imported into AutoCAD or other drawing programs and can be further edited.

SuperLog also provides a royalty-free preview and print utility so users can send the logs electronically to their clients via e-mail, allowing the clients to view and print the logs. Current version is Verson 3. (For the difference between version 2 and 3, see Q&A below)

Note: Sperlog only creates logs. It cannot generate soil profile. In above drawing, Sperlog created and exported 5 logs to other drawing program (PowerPoint or AutoCAD). The other drawing program generated the soil profile.

Q. What is the different between Version 3 and Version 2?
A. Version 3 adds more templates and It can adjust the log length. The templates and log files are not compatble from Version 2 to Version 3. If you are a new users, you should download Version 3. If you are the Version 2 user. You should stay with Version 2.

Q. What is the format of the reports and can we customize our own?
A. SuperLog includes many predesigned formats/templates with the program, ready to use. You would only need to change the company name and logo in each format. SuperLog also gives you the capability to modify the formats/templates and design your own.

Q. Can the output be exported to AutoCAD?
A. Yes. The output can be pasted or inserted in AutoCAD.

Q. Can the output be inserted or pasted to Word or Excel?
A. Yes. You can paste or insert the output to Word and Excel.

Q. Can the output be modified by other programs?
A. Yes. The output can be saved to a Metafile. You can open the Metafile in PowerPoint or CorelDraw. Then you can ungroup it and modify it.

Q. Can I put boring logs into soil reports in one file?
A. Yes. You can create the logs from SuperLog, then insert them into your word processing files such as Word or WordPerfect. You will have a complete soil report in one file. You can send the report via E-mail.

Q. Will I be able to email log files to our clients for electronic review?
A. Yes. The SuperLog program includes a preview and print utility in the software. It is a small executable file, royalty free, which allows you to send the log file (including utilities) to your clients electronically. The clients can then view and print the reports instantly. This utility can also be used in a database or GIS system so all users on the network or Internet can review and print the log without the requirement of a full program and license.

Q. Can SuperLog create graphics of Soil Profile?
A. No. Sperlog cannot generate soil profile. In above drawing, Sperlog created and exported 5 logs to other drawing program (PowerPoint or AutoCAD). The other drawing program generated the soil profile.
